thanksgiving
thanksgiving is a time of giving thanks. a time where one is supposed to reflect on the past, be thankful for it, and hope for the best in the future. while it all sounds fabulous, has anybody ever had a truly spiritual thanksgiving? hell no.
thanksgiving is a time where your fat uncle comes over for dinner and eats all the stuffing. your parents get completely drunk and start giving toasts. one relative starts up an argument from a relative from the other side. your grandmother makes you sleep out in the barn. or you slave away all week to make food for fifty which is all gone in a snap. and if it's not gone in a snap, you've got leftovers for life.
face it, thanksgiving never really makes it up to where we all put it to be.
this thanksgiving, although we didn't even bother to cook the food ourselves this year, still found itself a rut.
my uncle spent the entire night arguing with my sweet neighbors about stuff he does NOT understand, my aunt was constanly informing me about the accident that caused her to fracture her pink (over and over again) and the food was really cold. :/ but other than that, i had a blast. ;D no, but seriously, it's all good. i love thanksgiving. people and food? what more could you as for?
